Second Annual "Do it for Douce" Relay
The Nashoba Regional School District invites ALL students and staff to participate in the 2nd Annual “Do it for Douce Relay.” This event is being held to honor and remember Alex Doucette (Douce), a senior varsity track athlete who tragically passed away during practice in 2010. Please help us support Alex’s passion, spirit, and competitiveness by participating in this track relay. The “Do it for Douce Relay” is scheduled for Thursday, May 17th at 6:30pm at Nashoba Regional High School. The relays will take place on Nashoba’s track - UNDER THE LIGHTS! The event is open to 5th through 12th grade students in the district.
Amnesty International Supports Military Appreciation Month
For the next month the NRHS Amnesty club will be selling stars, for a dollar, on Wednesdays and Fridays during all four lunches. Please show your support and buy a star in honor of Military Appreciation Month. All proceeds will go towards service dogs to assist veterans. For more information, contact Rana Sargent Lapine, Bea Zhang, Preeti Saha, Lois or Eunice Nyasani and/or Mr. Poirier.
May is National Military Appreciation Month
Did you know that May is National Military Appreciation Month? This year we have planned several events and fundraisers to support those who’ve served in the armed services. Yesterday, Amnesty International launched our first fundraiser; they will be selling stars at lunch on each Wednesday and Friday through the month of May. Proceeds from sales will be donated to Canine Companions for Independent Living, an organization which trains and provides assistance dogs to disabled veterans. Tomorrow, a Canine Companions representative, Leslie and her four-legged friend Bogie will be visiting us in the café to share more information about their program. We will also be recognizing our first Red Friday tomorrow. All students and staff are encouraged to wear the color RED tomorrow and every Friday through the month of May. Why the color red? RED stands for the phrase: Remember Everyone Deployed. Here at Nashoba, we hope you will take this opportunity to honor someone you know who has served or is currently serving in the military. Stay tuned for more information about our Military Appreciation Month plans tomorrow during the video announcements.
